Things to know about Yamato in One Piece

Yamato has managed to earn semi-faithful love from the One Piece fan community, despite appearing in only a few seasons. Here's why!

However, in recent weeks, there has been a lot of talk about Kaido's heir, Yamato. This list will look back at that era and explain exactly why Yamato loved it.

Character design:

Yamato managed to impress early and didn't even need a single word to do so. This is largely due to the immediate appeal of her character design. Modeled after Kozuki Oden, Yamato wears similar clothes and heavy ropes to his hero. Furthermore, he appeared on stage with a powerful Kanabo club, very similar to his father's club, as well as Hannya's stunning mask that instantly sparked the interest of fans around the world.

Beneath this mask is a cute face with bright, adventurous eyes, long hair, and the iconic long horns worn by everyone on the Kaido crew. With Kaido's personal touch, everything about Yamato is an even bigger story for fans.

Yamato and Luffy like each other:

If Yamato's appearance was indeed interesting, the voice behind him could also entertain the fans. Despite having many rivals on the front line, Monkey D. Luffy rarely has a strong relationship with anyone except for Eustace Kidd who can step into anyone's place.

Yamato's one-sided decision to save Luffy and his own rivalry to save Wano with his own hands has already developed a strained relationship between the two, generating some of the funniest dialogues fans have seen on the show in some time. If Yamato can continue to maintain this special relationship with Luffy (especially if some fan theories are to be believed), fans certainly won't mind seeing his face for long.

His love for Auden:

Just like Yamato, Kozuki Oden has been able to win the love and admiration of his fans since day one. With his arrogant attitude, astonishing openness, and honest morals, Odin has developed such a popularity that he is worthy of being Wano's heir, especially as he was a former member of the crew of Whitebeard and the Roger Pirates.

Since her debut, fans have loved her whole look and story, but were only disappointed that her time on the show was so short. However, this disappointment won't last long as Ichiro Oda will help restore those feelings by adding his Fanboy Oden. Characters like Boa Hancock and Bartholomew are already loved because they are just as fans of the show as the rest, and someone like Yamato can only help fan the flames.

His gender is ambiguous:

Yamato may be known as the "son of Kaido," but biologically he is a girl. However, what has attracted a lot of attention from the community is the respectful and casual approach the show has taken towards this story. Yamato was so inspired to look like Kozuki Oden that he also sought his identification as a man.

Yamato Force:

And one of the best ways to portray this type of character is to portray them with some semblance of nuance and, most importantly, strength. Yamato, in particular, is certainly no stranger to strength. The son of one of the Four Emperors, Yamato was basically guaranteed to have some innate talent and strength behind his genes.

With the added bonus of his Wano upbringing and the ordeal of a life of hardship, Yamato is already guaranteed to be one of the strongest characters in the series. As the plot to bring down Kaido gets intensified with each chapter, fans are already excited for the fights and action they can expect from Yamato.

He has big goals:

No good character is written without a goal, and One Piece is a great practitioner that gives nearly all of its characters some motivation to keep moving forward. In the case of Yamato, fans didn't have to wait long to find out his wish. Wano suffered a lot because of her isolationist policy.

This policy was initially used to protect its people and maintain their ideologies, but is now applied as a weapon to oppress its own people. With the need to open its borders increasing day by day, one of the biggest things Yamato inherited from Kozuki Oden is the desire to expose Wano to the outside world. With this sense of freedom and duty as a backdrop, Yamato is easily one of the most impressive characters in the Wano arc.

Yamato has a special history with Ace:

Many One Piece characters have come and gone; But if there's one person you'd love to watch on a series over and over, even if it's just a memory, it's Portgas de Ace. His time on the show may have been minimal, but it was filled with enough plot and emotional moments to keep him at the top of the character polls for years to come.

His legacy has spanned parts of present-day history, with each mention fueling fans' imaginations even more. That's why when Yamato started shouting his name and saying that Luffy looked a lot like him, fans already knew he was a good guy. While fans wait to see what the nature of his story entails, Yamato is already supported by the mere proximity of the name Ace.

His Family History:

While the story with Ace is already quite baffling, fans will probably be more excited to see what it was like for Yamato's life under a father like the King of Beasts. Fans don't necessarily love this fact as much as they love the story it's built.

It's interesting that Yamato loves Oden more than his father, but there's a lot more that can upset him about Yamato's chains, years of abuse, and the fact that Kaido still wants him to control Wano.

Possibility of being a Shogun of Wano:

However, turning into a shogun and Wano is not a bad path for Yamato. Having inherited Kozuki Oden's ideals and goals, Yamato will follow the same policy that Oden followed before his untimely death, the task of opening the Wano frontier.

Fans already know that Lord Orochi has come out of the siege and are now eagerly awaiting Kaido's expulsion as well. As fun as these defeats are, it's up to Wano to find a reliable leader. With a character like Yamato poised to continue Oden's legacy, it's hard not to see him as a major contender.

Perhaps Yamato will join Luffy's crew:

Although fans would love to see Yamato presiding over Wano, there is more talk of him getting into the Straw Hat crew. Pranks with Luffy alone will surely make future seasons more diverse and enjoyable, and fans have been waiting a long time to announce a newcomer to the cast - Jimbei was announced years ago, so it doesn't count.

Objectively speaking, it would put Yamato on the same path as his hero and open him up to a whole world he had never seen before. It will also help enhance the straw hat's dynamic with more craziness and strength of character. With the contenders increasing in last place day by day, Yamato already sees himself at the top of the list.
